Terrell moved from Michigan to New Mexico, just 10 credits shy of graduating. “I was too embarrassed to enroll in a new school for one semester. So I dropped out.”
Ten years went by. After a few years in the school of hard knocks, Terrell realized he could not succeed without a diploma. “I had not been to school for a long time. I needed to brush up before I tried to get a GED. I called ReadWest. They matched me with my tutor Sue. I was blessed to have someone like her help me prepare for my high school equivalency. Her leadership and teaching skills are just amazing.”
Terrell has advice for other adults who need literacy help. “Know what you want out of life. Then set goals and have a plan.”
